First room we were given in basement...pokey and reeked of cigarette smoke, asked for a different room which we got on ground floor. Roof light only but better room with reasonable bathroom. The bed coverlets were filthy and really pu us off getting into bed. Could be a nice place if anybody cared!!!

It was generally OK for its price. Nice location. Small single room and rather old with very thin walls, but quite clean with hot water and fresh towels every day and a decent breakfast included in the price. The staff was polite and friendly. I recommend it to people without too many expections who need a decent cheap stay.

I booked via Internet and had no problems with check in nor with the staff service. As i was on a low budget trip, the hotel was just fine. The rooms are small and the overall appearance of the rooms is not good, but there were no problems with covering the basic needs such as taking a shower and sleeping. Breakfast is also included with the room - its nothing special, but at least there is a possibility to have a basic snack.

If you spend your vacation in the hotel look for something else. If you plan to spend most of the time in the city you'll appreciate the price and the good location of the hotel.

AVOID THIS HOTEL.

I booked a double room, i rang at around 2.30am when i left a club with my partner and they had swapped my service with another hotel. In any case they gave me wrong directions to the hotel. I arrived at the new hotel to find out they had noted me down for a twin and not a double bed. I of course kicked up a fuss, rang the Gower and pulled out my receipt which explicitly said 'double'. I was told there were no doubles available. I said if i had to stay in a twin room i would want some money refunded because it is contrary to the law to book a room which isn't available. The second hotel said they had no doubles and advised me to find the Gower. We went to the Gower.

Upon arrival there was no welcome, no apology, i was handed a form to fill out and asked for my credit card. If lady was not there the situation would have been interesting. In the end I was refused a discount but put in a triple room.

After paying the man on reception held onto my card, gave me the key to my room and said goodnight. I just looked at the guy until he gave me back my card but if i was more drunk than i was who knows where my card would have ended up.

Room & hot water was fine. We asked for a wake up call and didn't get it. We avoided the complimentary breakfast like a plague.

IF YOU STILL BOOK THIS HOTEL BECAUSE OF THE CHEAP PRICE, PAY ATTENTION AND KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CARDS.

AVOID! This place is awful. Dirty, gloomy and old - on par with a £12 b&b in blackpool. Need's shutting down, the description they give on the website is SO wrong.

Nice itchy night in a very noisy smelly dungeon. Why the **** is this place listed. Horrible staff and many looked like asylum seekers, unshaven and surly.

Stayed at this place and was not happy with the attitude of the staff or the bedroom. It smelt very bad and seems the smell was coming from the shower cubicle. Food was so so and the bacon was under cooked. I would not recommend this one.

Tried giving an opinion on this hotel but for some reason it does not appear. Basically this place should be closed down for a total revamp. I agree with most of the previous comments already expressed.

Not much to say about this establishment. Dirty hotel, food appaling and service non existant. Can I not give a zero rating?

Cockroaches in the bathroom and in our bed. No hot water in the morning, phone in our room didn't work. A fourth floor walkup with our baggage nearly killed us. Staff was pleasant and helpful and the location convenient, however would definitely would not recommend this hotel..

Much better than I´d expected! Nice and clean room, good beds and nice staff. Compairing to Oxford Street Youth Hostel, where I stayed last spring,Gower Hotel is well worth the money (in fact, Gower Hotel was cheeper!) thanks to the shower and toilet en suite and breakfast included. We enjoyed the waterkettel!

Hotel is more the bed and breakfast type. Very run down. Could do with some renovation. Not an enjoyable stay and overpriced in comparison to others in London. Would not go again. Not one to recommend. Very Poor.

It's pretty good. Individual rooms are small, but nice. The hotel is clean and in a nice area, really close to the tube and many restaurants. A good choice.
